ROSA BONHEUR
(BUTTES-CHAUMONT, PARIS 19)
“Bonheur” translates to happiness, but Marie Rosalie Bonheur was also a painter in the 19th century. She wore pants with pockets, never married and was awarded a Legion D’honeur for her hyper realistic paintings of animals. This ‘guinguette” [an outdoor, open air tavern] is a testament to Rosa Bonheur’s ‘joie de vivre’ and the best parts of summer.
VERRE VOLÉ
(CENTRAL ST. MARTIN, PARIS 10)
We come for the wine list but we stay for the vibes around the canal. Known for its cheese & charcuterie boards and convivial attitude, Volé is one of our favorite places to start or end the night bebopping around the canal.
LES AMOUREUSES
(PARIS 4)
“Les Amoureuxes” translates to the lovers. It’s also one of the 24 premier crus vineyards of Burgundy, renowned for its Pinot Noir. This adorable wine bar, started by Somm, features a well curated wine list and regular tastings.
SEPTIME LA CAVE
(OBERKAMF, PARIS 11)
From the people that brought you Septime and Le Clamato comes Septime’s Cave à Vins, an overflow while you wait for your Michelin-star reservations to open up, and a destination in and of itself. This cramped hole-in-the-wall behind the facade of a cobbler. “Septime” is the 7th in a series, most commonly used in frencing to describe the seventh parrying position. En garde. Prêts? Allez!
FOLDEROL
(OBERKAMF, PARIS 19)
From the makers of gourmet italian/japanese yakatori Rigamarole, the viral sensation: Folderol. Somewhat a victim of its own success, this cutesy little natural wine and gelato shop features rotating selections of both and a large NO TIKTOK sign at the front door. No worries, we don’t need Folderol. We have Folderol at home.
